Dean Emeritus of School of Business Administration
Biography
Lloyd DeBoer was hired in 1975 as Professor of Marketing and Chairman of the Department of Business Administration. It was not until 1977 that the Department of Business Administration became the School of Business Administration and DeBoer served as its first dean, a position he held until 1986.
During his tenure, DeBoer grew the school in terms of both students and faculty, and moved from North Campus (now Paul VI High School) to George Mason's main campus. He also laid the groundwork for the school to become AACSB accredited.
