Biography
As City President for Lennar Multifamily Communities (LMC), Malcolm Van de Riet II, leads a regional team with responsibility for all development operations for the company in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Mr. Van de Riet has 24 years of real estate industry experience and is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Real Estate Development program at George Mason University.
Prior to joining LMC, Mr. Van de Riet was the President of White Oak Properties, a Company he founded, which provided real estate development services for numerous clients in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Previously Mr. Van de Riet was the Vice President of Development for Jefferson Apartment Group (“JAG”), which encompasses real estate operations within the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions of the United States. In June of 2009, JAG purchased the Mid-Atlantic division of JPI where Mr. Van de Riet was the Regional Director of Development. While at JPI, Mr. Van de Riet led a team in the development of multiple apartment communities within the Washington Metropolitan Area. Prior to joining JPI in 2005, Mr. Van de Riet served as the Managing Director of Development and Construction for Lerner Enterprises where he was involved in the development of residential, hotel, office and retail developments. Mr. Van de Riet started his career at Jack Kent Cooke Incorporated in 1993, where he last served as the Director of Finance for JKC Stadium Inc. (The Washington Redskins) and was the Project Manager during the construction of Jack Kent Cooke Stadium (FedEx Field).
Mr. Van de Riet has a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Shenandoah University. Mr. Van de Riet is married and has one son.
